Poggio Croce  2020 Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG
1st Chianti Classico Riserva 2020

“Bright ruby red with subtle brightening on the rim. Elegant and inviting aromas of oranges and pomegranate, a subtle hint of graphite and then a touch of dried rose petal. Elegant, polished and juicy on the palate, with radiant fruit, juicy cherries and a powerful finish - 31.10.2024, Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler.”

Italian Wines Guide 2026 - Gambero Rosso

The wine journey of Swiss couple Adriana and Urs Burkard began in 2019 and follows two main paths: Arillo in Terrabianca, a winery located in the Additional Geographical Unit of Radda in Chianti, and Il Tesoro in Massa Marittima, in Maremma. The Chianti wines are generally well made and have a soberly modern style, focusing on balance and drinkability. The same approach is taken with the Maremma wines, which are obviously richer and more intense.

The Chianti Classico Sacello '22 has aromas of undergrowth and spices, with a rich fruitiness in the background. On the palate, it is subtle and beautifully dynamic, with very fine tannins and toasted notes in the long, engaging finish – awarded “3 bicchieri”.

The Maremma White '23  has aromas of white-fleshed fruits and balsamic touches, anticipating a savoury, well-balanced and calibrated palate with a crisp finish.

The Chianti Classico Poggio Croce Riserva 21 smells of ripe red fruit with constant toasted notes, and its flavour is influenced by a tannic texture that is not without ripples.

The Essential Guide to Italian Wine 2026 - Doctorwine

For several years now, an area such as Radda has been seen as a model region that has responded well to the crisis by focusing on history, territory and Sangiovese. Fresh, savoury wines with a very distinctive fruitiness, recognisable in the varied world of Chianti Classico.
Terrabianca is located in Radda, with 48 hectares largely replanted since 1988 with 12 different Sangiovese clones and other grapes that now produce flavourful and elegant local wines.

Collezione di Campaccio 2020
95 points
“The 2020 Campaccio Collezione is one of the finest wines I have tasted from Arillo in Terrabianca (and its predecessor, Terrabianca) in some time. Bright acids cut through a core of blood orange and pomegranate fruit. Cinnamon, cedar and new leather follow, adding further shades of nuance. It's great to see the estate coming back to its previous level of quality. - By Antonio Galloni on June 2024.”

Vigna Terrabianca Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2020
94 points
“The 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna Terrabianca is another terrific wine in this range from Arillo in Terrabianca. Black cherry, dried herbs, tobacco, incense, licorice and mocha are beautifully amplified in this resonant, super-expressive Gran Selezione. All the elements are very nicely balanced. - By Antonio Galloni on June 2024.”

Campaccio 2020

“The 2020 Campaccio is packed with dark-toned fruit, leather, spice, licorice and mocha. Ample and resonant on the palate, this heady blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot offers tons of textural intensity and power to burn. Even so, all the elements are impeccably balanced. - By Antonio Galloni on June 2024.”
